Turkish Delight Collagen Bliss Balls

Turkish Delight Collagen Bliss Balls.. Ok, I think I just died and went to Turkish Delight heaven!! These bliss balls were inspired by a recipe on One Green Plant by Liz Moody have been slightly tweaked so that they become a gut-healing treat.

They're all kinds of yummy, gooey (but not messy) pistachio and rosewater goodness. And they're pretty good for you as well with nothing nasty and the added potential benefits of collagen. #Winning!

The medjool dates make them almost fudgey in a way and you'd never even know they were healthy. Good healthy fats and protein, amino acids (from the collagen), fibre and nutrients from the dates and a digestive aid from the cardamom.

Makes a great snack during the day and perfect fuel if you're about to train (I have 1 before I go cycling in the morning and it gives me great sustained energy, PLUS I'm getting all the healthy skin benefits).

The first batch I made, I didn't roll them in anything but the second batch I rolled them in pistachio dust and I have to say... WOW! Just Wow.

So here they are for your eating pleasure ;)

Turkish Delight Collagen Bliss Balls

  • 300g raw shelled pistachios
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 8 medjool dates
  • 2 Scoops Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract/powder or paste
  • 4 tsp rosewater (Asian/Indian groceries or selected stores)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom

  • Rose petals to serve (optional)
  1. In a food processor add in a good handful of pistachio nut and process until fine and then set this aside.
  2. In the same processor add in the remaining nuts, medjool dates (without the seeds of course) and all of the other ingredients and process until it becomes a ball.
  3. Take out this sticky mixture and pop onto a clean bench or large chopping board.
  4. Roll the mixture out into a long snake and chop up into small pieces then form a ball until you get through all of the mixture (how small or large is really up to you)
  5. Roll the bliss balls in the pistachio dust and place these onto a plate.
  6. Cover with cling wrap and place into fridge overnight.
  7. Enjoy!
