Dicamba is a herbicide commonly used to control weeds, but its potential harm to human health is a growing concern. Studies suggest that exposure to dicamba can cause respiratory irritation, skin rashes, and eye irritation in the short term. Long-term exposure, particularly in agricultural settings, has been linked to more serious health issues, such as hormonal disruptions, liver toxicity, and an increased risk of certain cancers. Dicamba also tends to drift from treated fields, potentially contaminating nearby crops, water sources, and communities, further amplifying its risks to human and environmental health.

Diquat is a widely used herbicide that poses significant risks to human health, especially with prolonged or high-level exposure. It can cause severe skin and eye irritation and is toxic if ingested or inhaled. Diquat exposure has been linked to gastrointestinal issues, kidney damage, and respiratory distress. In severe cases, it can lead to systemic poisoning, causing organ failure and neurological effects. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in many herbicides, is linked to serious health concerns due to its potential toxicity and widespread use. Glyphosate has been classified as a "probable human carcinogen" by the World Health Organization (WHO), with research linking it to an elevated risk of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Its presence in food, water, and the environment raises concerns about long-term health effects, making it a controversial and heavily scrutinised chemical.

Paraquat is an extremely toxic herbicide that poses severe risks to human health, even in small amounts. Accidental ingestion, inhalation, or skin exposure can cause immediate harm, leading to lung damage, kidney and liver failure, and neurological effects. Paraquat poisoning is often fatal, as it generates oxidative stress that rapidly destroys cells, particularly in the lungs. Long-term exposure has also been linked to an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease. Due to its high toxicity, paraquat is banned in many countries, yet it remains a significant health hazard in regions where it is still used.
