Mood

A "mood" is a temporary state of mind that incorporates a feeling. You can be in a "good mood", an "irritated mood" or a "sulky mood" etc.

Often we can choose how we feel and the mood we are in but sometimes it is biochemical and it feels like our mood chooses us!

How can this be? Well, if we are deficient in certain nutrients that keep our brain balanced and keeps our brain producing those happy chemicals that keep us in a good mood, we may feel in a bad mood for no apparent reason.

The main nutrients we are referring to for mood are vitamin D (which you get from the sun and also from foods and supplements), B vitamins (3, 6, 9 and 12) that we get from things like liver, organ meats and organ supplements, magnesium (from foods and supplements) and omega-3 fatty acids that we get from cold-water fish, cod liver oil (is a better source than fish oil supplements) but we can obtain omega-3 through açai berries, hemp seeds and other seeds.

The adaptogenic herb Rhodiola is also a very good herb for helping mood and it has even been shown to help with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

We always advise people to chat to their trusted health practitioner if they're seeking advice.

In this collection, we have some of our best mood whole food supplements so we hope this is helpful to you and if you're unsure or have any questions, be sure to reach out to us, we are happy to help!
