A sweet little treat you’ll love 💜

If you’re anything like me, sometimes you just want something sweet without turning it into an entire event. 😂

These Collagen-Infused Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates are ridiculously simple, require only a handful of ingredients and have that delicious combination of sweet, salty, creamy and slightly chewy.

Even better, we’ve added two scoops of Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen to the peanut butter filling for an easy collagen protein boost.

No baking. No complicated equipment. And very little washing up.

My kind of recipe. 🙌

Collagen-Infused Peanut Butter Stuffed Dates

Makes: 10 stuffed dates
Prep time: Approximately 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 large Medjool dates, pitted
  • ¼ cup smooth or crunchy peanut butter (your preference)
  • 2 scoops Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen Powder
  • Crushed peanuts, to serve
  • Sea salt, to serve, optional

Method

1. Make the filling
Add the peanut butter and Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen to a small bowl and stir well until completely combined.

2. Stuff your dates
Carefully open each pitted Medjool date and fill with the peanut butter and collagen mixture.

3. Add the finishing touches
Sprinkle with crushed peanuts and a little sea salt, if desired.

4. Enjoy!
Eat them straight away or pop them into the fridge for a firmer, chewier treat.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Why We Love These Ingredients

Medjool Dates

Medjool dates bring the sweetness here — no need to add refined sugar to the recipe.

They’re naturally rich in carbohydrate and also provide fibre along with micronutrients including potassium, copper and magnesium.

And, perhaps most importantly for this particular recipe, they taste like little pieces of caramel. 😍

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter adds that creamy, slightly salty contrast to the dates and contributes protein, unsaturated fats, vitamin E, magnesium and other nutrients.

But have a quick look at your ingredient list before throwing a jar into your trolley.

I prefer peanut butter made from essentially:

Peanuts. That’s it. 🥜

A little salt is perfectly fine too.

There’s no need for added sugar or vegetable oils such as canola oil in peanut butter when peanuts already make such a delicious spread on their own.

Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen

Here’s our little twist. 💜

Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen provides approximately 11g of protein per scoop, so adding two scoops to the peanut butter mixture gives the whole recipe an additional collagen protein boost.

Collagen is a structural protein naturally found throughout the body, including in the skin, bones, tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues.

Hydrolyzed collagen has been broken down into smaller collagen peptides, making it incredibly easy to incorporate into everyday foods and drinks.

One important distinction: although collagen does contribute to your daily protein intake, it isn’t considered a complete protein because its amino acid profile differs from complete dietary protein sources.

So think of collagen as something to complement a varied, protein-rich diet, rather than replace other quality protein foods.

And the Sea Salt?

The sprinkle on top is mainly there because peanut butter + dates + a little salt = delicious. 😂

Salt provides sodium, an essential electrolyte involved in normal fluid balance and nerve and muscle function.

You only need a tiny sprinkle here — and it’s completely optional.

A Little Ingredient Tip 💜

If you’re shopping for peanut butter for this recipe, turn the jar around and read the ingredients rather than the marketing on the front.

Look for one that’s made with:

100% peanuts
or
Peanuts + a little salt

Simple!

And if you’re already putting Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen into your morning coffee or smoothie, this is another very tasty way to use it.

Sweet Medjool dates. Creamy peanut butter. A little salty crunch. And a collagen protein boost.

I’m fairly confident these won’t be hanging around in the fridge for very long. 😂💜
