Let me tell you a quick story about how we stumbled onto fermented cod liver oil and then this one with concentrated butter oil...
Being an avid follower of the Weston A Price Foundation and the Wise teachings from Weston Price himself, we have learned a lot about real food, proper nutrition and food traditions.
One of those traditions is fermentation.
I had tried various brands of cod liver oil previously (Rosita being one of them) and whilst they are great brands, I felt more drawn towards the fermented one by Green Pasture as I'm familiar with the extra benefits of fermentation and thus more potential benefits for one's health.
I've been taking a fermented cod liver oil supplement (this brand) for a few years now and the other day I realised that for the past year I have not been wearing my reading glasses?
I'm wondering if the extra vitamin A I've been getting has something to do with this? My guess is yes as cod liver oil is a great source of vitamin A as well as other fat-soluble vitamins such as D but with the concentrated butter oil, you also get vitamins E and K!
Note: I do also consume quite a bit of grass-fed ghee each day which also contains vitamin A, E and K!
What I love as well is how just 2 capsules, give me omega-3 fatty acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA )docosahexaenoic acid).
Why Not Just Take a Regular Fish Oil?
🐟The truth about fish oil is not one that some folks want to know.
🐟The fish oil that goes into capsules is a byproduct of the seafood industry and this product is actually rancid therefore they are deodorised.
🐟This oil is HIGHLY refined and heated to unnatural temperatures (about 230 degrees celsius) and boiled for many hours thus destroying the goodness and making the product very fragile and unstable.
🐟They are a type of PUFA (polyunsaturated fat), that is highly unstable and prone to rancidity
🐟Many companies use carrier oils like soybean oil which makes the product potentially high-inflammatory!
This is where cod liver oil steps in...
Cod liver oil when sourced from a pure and clean source and traditionally prepared with fermentation and cold-pressing makes for a raw and highly nourishing oil that is not only safer to take but most likely, much more effective.

Fermenting food is not new, in fact, it is one of our oldest food traditions (second to hunting of course) and it's done for a very good reason.
Not only does fermentation extend the life of a food, but it also enhances the food's nutritional content in a big way.
By fermenting the cod livers, it allows the fats to separate much more effectively; which results in an elevated concentration of vital fatty acids!
When it's referred to as 'raw' this just means cold-pressed and not heated like fish oils are. This cold process serves to prevent the degradation and loss of valuable nutrients and why FCLO (fermented cod liver oil) is far superior in quality and nutrition compared to fish oil.
Please see our blog 'Cod Liver Oil or Fish Oil' to learn and understand the differences between these 2 products and why you may never want to take a fish oil supplement again (but rather choose an FCLO supplement instead?
Once you go FCLO, you will never go back! 😉
Serving Suggestion: Take 2 capsules daily (750mg each)
