As I sit here writing this blog, it is starting to warm up and warm weather = smoothie bowls and lots of 'em!
There's not much I don't like when it comes to fruit (except paw paw, now that stuff smells like somebody threw up!) however, red papaya I do love! But that's a completely different fruit (in my opinion hehe).
So unless you've been living under a rock you've probably heard of Acai Bowls (pronounced Ah-sigh-ee) or even Dragon fruit or Pink Pitaya Bowls? Well they are great also but you can make just about any smoothie bowl flavour combo you are into and I will be sharing many more recipes here and on Social so keep your eyes peeled (like a banana) 🍌
So what is in this "tropical gut-healing smoothie" and why?
Well, mango of course! It doesn't get much more tropical than that does it? Well actually it does and if I had've had pineapple in my fridge that day i would have totally added Pineapple so please go right ahead and add it. I honestly wish I had added Pineapple because it's super tropical just like mango but oh well.
So I also added banana, red papaya and lime and passionfruit because these are all flavours that remind me of tropical places like Bali and Thailand.
The gut-healing element for these Tropical Gut-healing Smoothie Bowls comes from the Perfect Hydrolyzed Collagen powder but not only can collagen help with gut health but it can also give you gorgeous skin that glows! Don't we all like the sound of that?
By adding collagen to your diet, you are giving your body a better chance at tissue repair as collagen is the main structural proteins in the human body and if you past the age of 30 you will know that the old grey mare just ain what she used to be!
When we are in our 30's and beyond we start losing around 1% collagen production each year so it's not just important, it is VITAL to help boost this loss of collagen by taking it in a supplement form.
There are collagen beauty cremes on the market but I don't know how much good they would do as it is much better to take it internally.
So by adding collagen to smoothies, bowls, juices, scrambled eggs, porridge or other meals you could potentially be improving your skin and helping to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, improving your gut health (gut health is the foundation of good health) if you have poor gut health you can manifest illness or health conditions in other parts of your body!
Delicious recipes such as this one, make incorporating collagen into your life fun and easy. The ways you can use this supplement are absolutely ENDLESS! You're only limited by your own imagination.
Why I add Baobab to this Recipe?
I could be here for quite awhile if I told you all of the reasons why every woman should consider adding baobab to their wellbeing regime but I know you don't have a lot of time so I'll juts say this...
Baobab is a super food and is highly nutrient-dense! It contains electrolyte minerals such as magnesium and potassium, calcium for strong bones and teeth and vitamin C for glowing skin and strong immunity.
Baobab is rich in antioxidants polyphenols too so this can help to slow down the ageing process.
It contains gut-loving prebiotic fibre to keep the gut healthy and to keep you regular.
There are plenty more things that baobab can do so please be sure to learn more on the product page or explore our blogs. 💛
So without further ado here is the recipe you've been waiting so patiently for...
