Top Tips for a Healthy Heart

Heart disease is on the rise, we thought it may be important to give some top tips for a health heart so that it arms you with the right information to help you and your loved ones live a longer, healthier life. Please note that this information may be hard to swallow if you are into these particular foods. We are just here to give you the facts, because what good would it do you or anyone if we just told you what you wanted to hear? It wouldn’t do much and what would be the point in that?

I am here to help you, that is my goal in life and what gets me out of bed in the morning.

Can I give you a little bit of background on me? I’ve been on a health journey pretty much my entire life (as most of us have) and after being diagnosed with a multitude of various conditions (IBS, Raynaud’s Phenomenon, Pyrrole’s disorder, Adrenal fatigue, Candida overgrowth and anxiety disorder). I’ve also been told by a specialist that I may have endometriosis which comes with it’s own lot of symptoms…

I’ve had my tonsils out (much to my annoyance now, knowing what I now know), a bout of glandular fever and chicken pocks as a young teenage girl. I started to develop many more symptoms in my late teens and early 20’s such as severe tummy pains, panic attacks, and heart palpitations. Ever since I experienced all of this that I’ve been on a quest to heal.

These are of course all just tags for a bunch of symptoms that doctors don’t know the actual causes to and the fact that I am still suffering at 36 years of age goes to show how behind they are when it comes to healing the body and true, vibrant health. It’s been through this frustration that I found this amazing brand of whole food supplement (Perfect Supplements) and because I did feel my health improving, I wanted to bring these wonderful products into the homes and loves of thousands (if not millions!) of other Aussies.

So now, I am on a mission to educate others about healing through eating a whole food, plant-based diet and taking the right kind of supplementation. Before my husband met me he was not as healthy as he is now. In saying that though, he did go through something the past year with his heart (atrial fibrillation) and this has made me investigate an area of health I never thought I’d have to. When it’s someone you love or really care about, you’ll do anything to find answers.

We thought we were pretty healthy all these years but recently I discovered the Medical Medium and through reading his books and listening to his radio show I have learned that I was actually feeding the problems…

You see, many of the illness that we suffer from are caused by what Anthony (medical medium) refers to as ‘The Unforgiving 4‘. These are spoken about in his book that you can find on his website. One of these unforgiving four is the viral explosion that’s occurred over the past century and may be the cause to many of my symptoms. The others are toxic heavy metals that we are constantly bombarded with, radiation, and DDT.

I won’t go to much into this here but I would highly suggest checking him out and investing in his books. This comes from someone (me) who has spent thousands of dollars on naturopaths, herbalists, nutritionists, acupuncturists and energy healers. I’ve had just about every blood test there is under the sun and live blood analysis. Sure, these things all bought about some temporary relief (as do some of the supplements in our range) but they don’t get to the TRUE cause and allow the body to healing.

So the info. I’m sharing with you today about heart health is information I’ve learned from the Medical Medium. This is not for you if you’re someone who needs scientific evidence so please don’t reply to this blog and have a go at me. I am sharing this for people who have an open mind and are looking for real answers to their health problems. I personally believe in the information I am learning and am applying it to my life and feeling better for doing so.

Top Tips for Heart Health

Avoid Dairy

We know on a deep level that eating dairy is not natural and not good for our health though we’ve been programmed our whole life to think that consuming dairy is healthy. Doctors tell us we need to eat dairy to “get our vitamin D”, well-meaning teachers and parents pass on this same information and it’s no wonder when you look at a modern day food pyramid (which I would completely change if I had my way but that’s a whole other topic for a different day).

The thing is, we are not baby cows and we were never meant to drink their milk or eat the products made form their milk. This may be hard to accept if you’re a dairy lover but it is just the truth. We get way more calcium from plant based foods like sesame seeds, spinach, cabbage, kale , rocket, swede, watercress, broccoli and parsley.

It’s important to know that calcium from cows milk is not easily absorbed in the body and consuming dairy foods can actually leech calcium from your bones rather than adding it in.

What Dairy Does

Dairy bogs down the liver and this can affect the heart (especially if you already have heart palpitations). Eating dairy also stresses out the pancreas which leads to a higher insulin resistance. If you’re someone who is sensitive to dairy, malabsorption issues will most likely occur as your digestive tract will be inflamed.

Many people who consume dairy develop higher allergic reactions to dust and pollen, not to mention, dairy is one of the foods that feed pathogens in the body that contribute or cause mystery illnesses that doctors don’t have answers to. The list of conditions/symptoms that dairy affects is way to long to list here but you can find it in his book ‘Life Changing Foods‘).

Here are just a few of the symptoms/conditions caused by consuming dairy

Heart palpitations, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulitis or any other inflammatory bowel disease, chronic sinusitis, sleep apnea, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)/mononucleosis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Grave’s disease, chronic ear infections, common colds, liver disease, fatty liver, gout, yeast infections, eczema and much much more!

I used to eat dairy so please know that I understand how difficult it can be coming off it, but it can be done. Once you have removed it from your diet and added in the alternatives you will wonder why you hadn’t done it sooner.

Avoid Eggs

Now, I know this one is very hard to swallow (being a former egg FANATIC) but once I found out how harmful eggs can be for healing I no longer desired eating them and now I can’t even stand the thought of an egg.  Just like dairy, we’ve been conditioned to believe that eggs are good for our health and while it’s undeniable that eggs contain lots of good nutrients, it’s important to know that when a person is ill, eggs feed the cause of that illness.

The true definition of being ill is any symptom experienced on a regular basis, (including headaches and bloated belly) because illness is the complete opposite of wellness and we all want to be optimally well.

Eggs feed pathogens in the body (including the EBV virus and streptococcus bacteria) which only keep us symptomatic and unwell.

Avoid eggs especially if you have any of the following conditions or symptoms…

Heart palpitations, Breast cancer, reproductive cancers, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, brain tumours, brain cancer, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fibroids, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)mononucleosis, thyroid nodules, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and other thyroid disorders, all autoimmune diseases and disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases, acne, adrenal fatigue, migraines and much much more!

Avoid Wheat

Wheat is something that can be hard to avoid as it’s in many food items so you really need to read labels and ask the waiter/waitress if dining out or eating take away foods. Wheat is a very inflammatory food and this is because it feeds the pathogens in the body that lead keep illness alive and kicking. We can’t just point the finger at gluten because there are other compounds in wheat that keep these pathogens satisfied.

Not everyone has the pathogens mentioned earlier (though most do and don’t even realise it) so if you’re someone who can eat it without feeling any negative symptom then go right ahead but personally I wouldn’t even take the chance.

If you’ve ever gone off wheat for a period of time, I’m sure you have seen some improvement in your symptoms?

Avoid wheat if you have any of the following conditions or symptoms…

Chest tightness, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulitis or any other inflammatory bowel disease, H.pylori infection, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), sleep apnea, chronic sinusitis, interstitial cystitis, urinary tract infection (UTI’s(, yeast infections, depression, anxiety, bronchitis, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), bloating, itchy skin and much much more!

Avoid Canola Oil

Many people are led to believe that using canola oil or eating products that contain canola oil is completely safe and even healthy? Whatever nutritional benefits canola contains will quickly be outweighed by the downsides.  I’m not here to scare you or put fear in you but I need you to know that canola is unsafe for us to consume and that’s because it wreaks havoc on our bodies. Here is why…

Canola oil is extremely damaging to our immune system, thus causing it to become dysfunctional and disruptive to organ and gut health.

“Canola oil not only feeds pathogens as the above foods do; it also eats away at all the linings in the body – from the stomach and intestinal tract linings to those of veins, arteries, the heart, kidneys, bladder, ureter, urethra, and if you’re a woman, the linings of the reproductive system.” – Medical Medium

Note: please be aware that canola oil can hide under the name ‘vegetable oil’ so when looking at labels always look for olive oil or coconut oil. Perhaps even sunflower but I am not 100% sure on that last one.

Natural flavours is a deceiving term isn’t it? You’d think that because it says ‘Natural’ that it is healthier but this is not the case at all and you must know this.

Please be informed that if something says ‘natural flavours’ or ‘natural fruit flavours’ etc.. this just means that there is MSG (mono sodium glutamate) in the item and therefore you’ll really want to steer clear of. MSG is neurotoxic – meaning, that it is toxic to our nervous system and can be the cause behind many illnesses and disease.

“MSG – a neurotoxin that builds up in the brain and destroys neurons and glial cells. MSG is incredibly detrimental to the central nervous system and can wreak havoc on your life.And yet it’s becoming a trend for these so-called natural flavourings to be added to even the purest organic packaged foods, as well as herbal teas and nutritional supplements. If you want to avoid illness, be very discerning with food labels – if “natural” and “flavour” are anywhere near each other on an ingredient list, put the package back on the shelf. (though don’t be afraid of vanilla extract, as long as that’s exactly how it’s labelled.” – Medical Medium

Remove Natural flavours from your life if you have…

Tightness in the chest, autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), migraines, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, anxiety, depression, and all other neurological conditions, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and other thyroid issues, insomnia, stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), transient ischemic attack (TIA), sciatica, macular degeneration, Lyme disease, trouble concentrating, memory issues, headaches, fatigue, body aches, jaw pain and much much more!

Manage Stress

This one goes without saying but we all need the memo every now and then. It can be a real challenge to manage our stress in this modern-day world, I’m not gonna lie but it is CRITICAL for not just our heart health but our health in general. Stress creates adrenaline and too much adrenaline in the body is corrosive. Adrenaline, like heavy metals, dairy and eggs help to feed the pathogens that cause much of our illness today.

Learn how to take the pressure off yourself by taking a few things off of your to-do list each day, learn to say no to people, things or events that don’t allow you enough time to take care of yourself and also (this is a huge one),  take the time out each day to find stillness in your mind. Maybe you’re not someone who can sit/lay and meditate and that’s ok! you can practice stillness while out in nature, out in the surf or going for a walk, run or any other non-aggressive form of exercise.


We all know that exercise is good for our health and good for our heart so this is only to serve as a reminder. It’s important to mention though, that extreme exercise and obsessive training can actually detrimental to the health so don’t go crazy on exercise, gentle exercise is great for our health and our heart especially!

The Liver’s Role in Heart Health

Believe it or not, the liver is the filter for the heart so if the liver is sluggish, the heart then needs to work harder to draw blood from the liver. If we eat a high-fat diet we can be negatively impacting the liver (and heart) without even necessarily realising it.

What can we do?

Eat a less fat diet (this includes plant fats such as avocado, nuts, seeds and coconut oil and other fatty fruits) and eat more fruits and veggies! Veggies especially, help to thin out the blood which helps to naturally reduce high blood pressure. The more fruits and vegetables in the diet, the more we give our liver a break. The liver definitely needs a break if it is sluggish and overburdened. Eating a low-fat, plant based diet will help the liver to heal and this in turn helps the heart.

I understand that this information may challenge some as we often have belief systems around food that we have been holding onto for many years, even decades so I encourage you to just let the info. settle in and process in your mind for a bit. I get that you may be following a current trend or a certain way and that is ok, I’m just sharing this info. and you have the choice (always) to accept or reject it.

All I know is that I have been sick for far too long and the info. that Anthony shares resonates with me on a deep level and honestly, nothing else has truly worked for me in my 36 years of life on this planet. I mean, to truly heal and live with abundant, radiant health.
