Ashwagandha is also known to help balance out the doshas (especially "Vata" and "Kapha"). A dosha is the 3 energy that defines or make up a person in Ayurveda. A person is usually stronger on 1 or 2 dosha types and less on one other dosha type.
Example: You may have lots of fire in your energy system and even your personality, and that would mean you may be more "Pita" dosha type. Pitta dosha tends to be leaner as opposed to the "Kapha" dosha type, they tend to be calmer and sometimes a stockier body type but have a more stable and calm personality. There is no right or wrong here and some people may be an even mix of all 3 types!
It's just learning what you are and the foods and activities that will help keep you balanced. (if you are Ayuervidically-inclined)?
